A facile synthesis of Sn-doped CeO2 nanoparticles: High performance electrochemical nitrite sensing application

Development of novel electrode materials for sensing water pollutant like nitrite, nitrate, paramedical pollutants and fertilizers is a more promising research area in electrochemical sensor field. Various pure as well doped metal oxides were used electrodes the but, deficits stability, reproducibility real time analysis. In present work, Sn-doped CeO2 based was fabricated nitrite water. A selective concentration Sn (5%) nanoparticles synthesized by facile chemical precipitation method. The structural, optical morphological information studied using various techniques. sample revealed an agglomerated with spherical size 8.5 nm. synergistic effect Sn-CeO2/GCE improves behavior on modified surface. has better surface property provides fine-grained media to facilitate electron transfer during reaction between analyte electrode. possesses excellent electrocatalytic oxidation (NO2–) which investigated cyclic voltammetry (CV) amperometry remarkable sensitivities found that 245.4 µA cm−2 mM−1 89.53 R2 = 0.999 RSD ∼ 6%. Similarly, limit detection (LOD) towards ion be 16 nM. application demonstrated environmental samples recoveries. Hence, also demonstrates good reproducibility, long selectivity properties. Thus, developed promise construction simple sensitive analytical stage.
